What is CHESS?

Community House Extended Support Services, commonly abbreviated as CHESS, was established back in the year 2020 as a vital and essential extension of the well-known Community House on Broadway. This specialized program is wholeheartedly dedicated to providing a safe haven for homeless individuals who are medically fragile and may also face physical obstacles, particularly those who are elderly. CHESS is conveniently located directly across from PeaceHealth Hospital, making it easily accessible for those in need of assistance and care.Currently we have 19 rooms that can house up to 45 residents.

Behavioral Health Services

With the partnership with CORE Health, CHESS has onsite Mental Health Treatment as well as Substance Use Treatment and Case Management. Onsite services provide residents the necessary support with convenience of not needing to go far.
Shelter & Food

Like Community House on Broadway, CHESS has their own cook groups and volunteers who prepare and serve dinner for the residents. Having volunteers to cook and serve meals gives the residents one less thing to worry about and helps them feel at home.
Employment & Housing Assistance

At CHESS are goal is to support and assist the homeless families and individuals towards becoming self - sufficient and thriving in the comfort of their own home.
